LOUISIANA SEED TO SALE TRACEABILITY

KNOWLEDGE CENTER

Created to provide helpful information about the Louisiana Cannabis Industry.

  • Current legislation in Louisiana permits non-smokable forms of medical marijuana such as oils and edibles.  The plant material that is more commonly used will not be medically available.
  • Doctors are authorized to “recommend” medical cannabis to qualifying patients.
  • There are no rules or regulations in place allowing the cultivation and dispensing of medical marijuana, meaning there is nowhere for patients to safely access medical marijuana.
  • Current legislation states that all cultivated cannabis must be grown with the “lowest acceptable levels of THC available through scientifically accepted methods.”
  • When the state does adopt provisions to address the sale and growth of medical cannabis, it is expected that it will be distributed through licensed pharmacies.

Information will be updated here as it becomes available. Check out our Cannabis Bill Tracker for legislative updates on your state and check back here for updates on official licensing info.
